Dear Atherton Families,

I am writing to share that we are close to solving our transportation challenges. We have hired a driver and we are in the process of training another driver.

Unfortunately, our new driver cannot begin until Monday, November 9, 2026. Until that time, our bus routes will continue to as follows:

- Red Bus will run in the morning and the afternoon Monday through Friday.
- Green and Blue Busses will run in the morning and afternoon Monday through Wednesday, only. These routes will not run on Thursday or Friday this week or next.

As of today, ALL bus routes are scheduled to be back to normal beginning on Monday, November 9, 2026. If anything changes, we will send an update.

Thank YOU for all you are doing to support us and your children!

We are still looking for additional substitute drivers!! Please call 810-591-9182 if you or a friend/family member are interested in helping us part-time.

Dear Atherton Families,

The Director of Operations and I have been working this afternoon and evening to find a solution to our bus driver shortage that would allow us to maintain all bus routes. Unfortunately, we have been unable to secure the coverage needed.

The BLUE and GREEN morning and afternoon bus routes are CANCELLED for Thursday, October 15, and Friday, October 16. The RED bus route will run as scheduled.

We understand that this creates challenges for families, particularly when coordinating transportation around work schedules. To help accommodate families affected by these cancellations, we are offering early drop-off at both buildings. Please review the schedules below.

Atherton Elementary
*Early drop-off: The building will open at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday and Friday for students who need to arrive early to accommodate parent work schedules.
*Thursday dismissal: Early dismissal at 1:58 p.m.
*Friday dismissal: Regular dismissal at 3:28 p.m.
*If you are unable to pick up your child at dismissal, please contact the school office to make arrangements.

Atherton Junior/Senior High School
*Early drop-off: The building will open at 6:45 a.m. on Thursday and Friday for students who need to arrive early to accommodate parent work schedules.
*Thursday dismissal: Early dismissal at 12:58 p.m.
*Friday dismissal: Regular dismissal at 2:28 p.m.
*If you are unable to pick up your child at dismissal, please contact the school office to make arrangements.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this unexpected staffing shortage. We will continue working on solutions and keep families informed of any updates.
