Dear Families,
We received the results of the second AJSHS water/well tests. The levels are not within acceptable limits. We are working to determine the source of the second test problem and have it resolved as quickly as possible. The water is safe for handwashing, but without acceptable results for the water test, it still cannot be ingested. We will continue to provide bottled water.

Good news! Yesterday's water test passed! AJSHS will be in session tomorrow (Thursday) again with bottled water. We need one more passed test to be in the clear. I will keep you updated.

We received the results of our second water testing this afternoon. The results require a heavy chlorination of our water and water system with a follow-up water test. The process cannot be completed until Monday and requires a 24-hour cleansing period, which will lead into Tuesday. The high level of chlorination in the water during the cleanse may cause a reaction if ingested and in those with sensitive skin, so school is cancelled for Tuesday, October 21, 2025, for Atherton Junior Senior High students only. Atherton Elementary and Atherton Virtual Academy will have school. The elementary water system is completely separate from AJSHS, so that building’s water is not impacted. Once the cleanse is complete, the water system will be flushed. Please continue to watch your email for updates.

Dear Families,
The first water sample test went well. We passed. The second test was submitted this afternoon. We will hear the results tomorrow afternoon, but based on today's results, it should be fine. This only impacts AJSHS.
We will have one more day (Friday) with bottled water. This only impacts AJSHS. Everything should be back to normal for when students/staff return on Tuesday.

We have not received the water test results as of yet, so we will hold school tomorrow using the same protocols as we did today. Bottled water will be available for students and staff. This only impacts AJSHS.
School, breakfast, lunch, and conferences will take place as scheduled.
Repair work was completed on the AJSHS water well after school today. The water supply has been restored and is functioning properly. However, follow-up water testing must be conducted to ensure the water is safe to drink. While we are waiting for the water test results, we will provide bottled water to students/staff. Your student is also welcome to bring a water bottle from home. This only impacts AJSHS.

Hello, Wolverine Parents/Guardians,
We're thrilled to launch our 2025 middle school girls basketball season! Coach Pendelton is excited to start working with the girls for the upcoming season. We will have a parent information meeting following tryouts. More information will come home regarding the date and time. The important meeting will cover behavior and academic expectations, including academic eligibility.

Date: Tuesday, September 9, 2025
Time: 2:45 pm to 4:00 pm
Location: Atherton Junior Senior High School - Students should meet in Coach Pendleton's classroom (304) immediately following dismissal.
What to bring: Please wear athletic wear (shorts, joggers/sweatpants, t-shirts, sports bras, athletic shoes/sneakers), and bring a filled water bottle along with a positive attitude and work ethic.
